小行星可能撞击地球–第 3 级

科学家们正在密切跟踪去年发现的小行星2024 YR4。据估计，它的宽度在40米到90米之间，可能会在2032年12月22日非常接近地球。
目前，它撞击地球的几率为 2%，略高于之前的预测。不过，专家强调，它仍有 98% 的可能性不会撞上地球。
当一颗小行星首次被发现时，它的确切路径存在很大的不确定性。随着更多数据的收集，科学家们可以完善他们的计算，并经常排除碰撞的可能性。
如果进一步的观测结果证实小行星正直奔地球，就可以启动偏转任务。美国宇航局已经通过成功改变另一颗小行星的轨道对这种方法进行了测试。目前，天文学家将利用詹姆斯-韦伯太空望远镜（James Webb Space Telescope）等工具继续观测 2024 YR4，直到 2028 年它离开人们的视线。
