地雷是藏在地下、可能爆炸的危险物品。马加瓦发现了100多枚这样的地雷，让这片土地对儿童和家庭来说变得安全。他工作了许多年，甚至因其英勇事迹获得了一枚金牌。马加瓦于2022年去世，现在人们为他竖立了一座石像以示感谢。
这座雕像位于暹粒。柬埔寨境内仍残留着许多旧战争遗留的地雷，政府计划在2030年前全部清除。这座雕像让人们铭记马加瓦，也铭记着保障国家安全这一重要工作。
