自今年2月伊朗与美国爆发冲突以来，几乎没有船只能够通过该海峡。这造成了巨大困扰，因为全球大部分石油都经此运输。上周五，一艘名为“Celestyal Discovery”的邮轮成功驶过了该海峡。 如今，此前滞留在多哈和阿布扎比等港口的其他船只也正准备启航。
目前实施的为期两周的停火协议，为船只的安全通行提供了保障。停火协议将于4月22日到期，但如果局势好转，美国总统可能会延长停火期限。
