该设计以标志性的“至尊魔戒”为核心，因为它在全球数百万影迷心中具有极高的辨识度，即便硬币尺寸较小，主题依然清晰明了。
设计师解释说，他们之所以选择使用精灵文字，是因为这种文字具有优美的书法韵味。 通过将两组看似相互辐射的独立文字环置于硬币上，艺术家在平面的硬币上营造出一种动态感与流动感。字母采用不同的角度和线条粗细，以增强这种效果。
这枚收藏币还具有一个独特的设计：每当光线照射时，便会投射出索伦之眼。
