纽约的外科医生完成了一项突破性的壮举，首次为人类进行了全眼移植手术。
虽然经过 21 个小时的手术，患者亚伦-贾梅的移植眼仍未恢复视力，但移植眼已显示出积极的健康迹象，如功能良好的血管和视网膜。纽约大学朗贡医疗中心手术团队负责人爱德华多-罗德里格斯博士强调了眼球移植手术的历史意义，认为这是几个世纪以来都无法实现的壮举。
受术者是一名退伍军人，最初接受手术是部分面部移植的一部分，原因是一次与工作有关的电气事故损坏了他的左脸。虽然现在的眼睛不能与大脑交流，但这一手术为未来视力恢复的进步提供了可能。
