在洛桑大学医院植入的这种神经假体使用脊髓电极和皮下电脉冲发生器来刺激腿部肌肉。这项创新技术为高迪尔带来了新的独立性，改善了他的日常生活，为他注入了自信。
帕金森病是一种退行性神经系统疾病，在过去 25 年中发病率不断上升，影响着全球数百万人。计划明年再对六名患者进行临床试验，希望这项技术能惠及更多晚期帕金森病患者。
