100 多名外交官和公务员谴责了政府的决定，称其违背了格鲁吉亚的战略利益。格鲁吉亚总理伊拉克利-科巴希泽（Irakli Kobakhidze）为这一决定辩解，指责欧盟对上个月的选举提出质疑是一种讹诈。
