日语中描述天气的词汇通常都很柔和优美，但这个新词听起来却令人恐惧且严肃。在一次投票中，有50万人选中了它。去年是日本自1898年以来最热的一年。科学家表示，由于气候变化，气温达到40℃的日子正变得越来越常见。

这种极端高温对人们的健康非常危险，特别是对老年人而言。当天气又热又潮湿时，人体很难自行降温。新词“kokushobi”是对所有人的警示，提醒大家在这些危险的日子里务必注意安全并多喝水。
