中国河南省许昌市是全球假发行业的领头羊，生产全球约 60% 的假发。该地区有 4100 多家企业和 30 万名工人，大部分假发都是用人发制作的。

2024 年，该市的发制品出口额超过 20 亿美元。肯尼亚内罗毕的一位店主说，她最初对从中国进货感到不放心。但现在，她对假发的质量非常满意，并说在肯尼亚没有人能仿造这些假发。
